Labor

Labor is physical and mental work, specifically hard and exhausting work used in the production goods and services. The main element in the production process is labor. A nation’s work force is determined by the size of the nation’s adult population, and the number of adults who are working or are ready to offer their effort for pay.

Labor Economics

The study of the labor force as an element in the process of production. Labor Economics is an economic sub-field that studies markets in which labor services are exchanged for work. It involves itself with the relations of numerous decision markets, which decide on the price and the amount of labor services provided.

Land

Land is comprised of not only all the geographic land in any given area but also all naturally occurring resources within that area. As an example, land could be considered forests, mineral deposits, fish stocks, atmospheric quality, to name a few.

Land Use

Land use is the function or functions that humans apply to available land around them. The land is managed through zoning, which is how local governments regulate and control how the land around them is to be used. Zoning is used to make cities more pleasing, control pollution, protect the environment and efficient transportation.

There are approximately 6,500 spoken languages in today’s world. Two thousand of them have less than a thousand speakers. Language is a communication system that involves a set of sounds and written symbols used by the people of a specific country or region in their speech and writing.

Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, or laser is a narrow beam of light used in technology and instruments. Lasers are narrow beams of light with similar wavelengths and light waves that travel together.

Law

Laws are important for society because they serve as rules of conduct for citizens. They provide society with guidelines of what conduct is acceptable. Without laws, conflicts between social groups and communities would be common occurrences.

Law enforcement is any agency or department of people who enforce laws, investigate crimes and make arrests. Special, federal, state, or local law enforcement officers keep people and property safe. Violence and crime are among the most important reasons law enforcement agencies exist.

Leadership is the ability to motivate a group of people to work towards a common goal of meeting a company or organization’s needs. Leaders need to communicate their ideas to others in a way that motivates them to want to help put those ideas into effect.

Learning is the process where individuals develop different knowledge, skills, habits, and attitudes that are necessary for them to meet life’s challenges. The main goal of learning is for an individual to be able to change the behavior to adjust to new situations.

A lease is a contractual arrangement that solidifies the role of the lessee (user) and lessor (owner) of a specific asset such as a car, building, or piece of equipment. The lessor remains the legal owner of the asset, but the lessee gets the right to use the asset in return for regular rental payments.

Legal Ethics

Legal ethics are the set of principles that establish acceptable conduct for members within the legal profession. In the US, these principals are enforced by a regulatory body such as the bar association in order to ensure lawyers conduct themselves in a manner that adheres to this code of ethics.

The future loss of economic benefits that involved parties are obligated to provide to other entities due to previously made transactions is known as liability. This term is specific to the field of financial accounting and is essentially a settlement that could result in the reallocation of economic benefits in the future.

The Oxford Dictionary defines life as the existence of an individual human being or animal. Science defines life as the capacity to grow, metabolize, respond to stimuli, adapt, and reproduce.

Life insurance is a contract with an insurance company that in exchange for premium payments, provides a lump-sum payment known as a death benefit, to beneficiaries at the time of the insured’s death.

Literature is books and writings published on a certain subject. There are different types of literature and text, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry and plays. Literature conveys thought, ideas and feeling through the written word.

Litigation is the process of legal action between two opposing parties who are working to enforce or defend a legal right. In most cases, the parties settle out of court by negotiating an agreement. Some cases go to court, where a judge or jury hear both side’s argument and determine how the case is settled.

Logistics

Logistics is the detailed organization and the application of a complicated operation. It involves the movement of a product from beginning to end. Business logistics manages the flow of packaging and supplies from the beginning of production to the point of sale to meet customer or corporation requirements.

Long Term Care involves several services that are designed to meet the health and personal care needs of a person during a short or long period of time. Long Term Care Insurance is an insurance policy that is sold in the United States to help pay for the cost of long-term care.
