Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is the study and use of structures between a nanometer and 100 nanometers in size. It is the use of these extremely tiny particles to deliver drugs, heat, light, and other elements to cancer cells though electronic devices, sensors, and catalysts.

Computer networking is a group of computing devices that are connected through cables, wires, and wireless service to communicate and share resources.

A network is made up of two or more computers linked to share resources, trade files, or permit electronic communication. There are two network types: Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).

Neurology

Neurology is a medical specialty dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Specifically, it deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of disease involving the central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous systems, including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effected tissue, such as muscle. The corresponding surgical specialty is neurosurgery.

Neuropsychology

Neuropsychologists focus on changes in behavior after an individual goes through a neurological trauma or condition. This specialty within psychology is seeking insights related to both cognition and behavior, and how these are affected by brain function.

Neuroscience

Neuroscience is the study of how the nervous system develops, its structure, and what it does. Also known as neural science, neuroscience focuses on the brain and its effects on cognitive and behavioral functions. Neuroscience studies what happens to the nervous system when people have neurological, psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Neurosurgery

Neurosurgery is surgery that being performed on the nervous system, especially the brain and spinal cord. It focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders that affect any part of the nervous system, brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and extra-cranial cerebrovascular system.

Nuclear Physics

Nuclear physics is the branch of physics that deals with the structure of the nucleus of the atom. In the atom’s nucleus, energy is released when it is split or fused. Inside the atom there are protons and neutrons. These particles are 10,000 times smaller than the atom itself. When they merge nuclear fusion occurs when one nucleus is split into two or more parts.

Today, there are over four million registered nurses in the United States. That means one in every 100 people are a registered nurse. Nursing includes the endorsement of good health practices, the prevention of illness, and the care of the ill, disabled, and dying patients.

In order to prepare for a career as a nursing professional, all prospective nurses must go through theoretical and practical training. These courses last four years, with approximately 235,000 applicants to basic RN programs in the 2017 school year.

Nutrition

Approximately, 678,000 people die each year from an unhealthy diet. Poor nutrition and obesity related diseases contribute to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer. In the last thirty years, obesity has doubled in adults, tripled in children, and quadrupled in adolescents. Good nutrition is an important part of a healthy diet.
