Michigan Expert Witnesses
Michigan is an upper Midwestern state that is separated into an upper and lower peninsula. The Upper peninsula is wooded with inland lakes. It is recognized for its deer and bear hunting, and lake and stream fishing. Michigan’s Lower Peninsula has its own mineral resources, which include gypsum found near Grand Rapids, sandstone in the South Rockwood south of Detroit, limestone in Rogers City on Lake Huron, and salt in Detroit. Agriculturally, Michigan is known for wheat grown in Saginaw, corn near Kalamazoo, dairy products from east of Grand Rapids, and cherries from Traverse City. Thirty percent of Michigan’s economy is based on fabrication. Automobile and transportation equipment manufacturing occurs in Detroit, paper manufacturing and pharmaceuticals in Kalamazoo, chemicals in Midland, furniture in Grand Rapids, and breakfast foods in Battle Creek.
