Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer Expert Witness #1061

Expert has significant research and design experience in the field of heat transfer. His experience ranges from aerospace systems to electronic devices and nuclear power plant design. He is the recipient of the Heat Transfer Memorial Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), one of the most prestigious awards in the field. His career spans more than thirty years in both research and industrial applications in the field of heat transfer. He has been involved in studies and design of water desalination plants, use of solar power, aerospace heat transfer for re-entry vehicles and more recently use of volume averaging methods for designer materials.

His expertise extends to the natural convection cooling of electronics. He has developed methods for heat sink optimization and the capability to passively remove heat at fluxes up to 1 kw/cm2. In addition, he developed a novel approach to IGBT cooling that enables the power controlled to be significantly increased without loss in reliability.

Expert has a great deal of experience in the application of thermodynamics to energy systems. This includes the conversion of heat energy into mechanical energy and the production of electricity. He has developed the use of flourescence for temperature /pressure measurement and performed optimization of co-generation plants using neural net based computer algorithms. He is an experienced expert witness with numerous expert witness assignments including deposition and trial testimony.
